In- photo: The 700-year-old tradition of qawwali at Hazrat NizamuddinSmriti Saxena
This is definitely one of the “must – do” Thursday night things in Delhi.
- Where: Just around Mathura Road, the dargah (shrine) of Nizamuddin Auliya is one of the most famous landmarks in Delhi.
- When: Though the qawwali performances happen here every night, but Thursday night or ‘Jummeraat’ has a special significance
- Timings: It’s spread over two sessions, one at sundown and one around 9pm, but in winter, only the dusk session takes place, after maghrib (the evening prayer).
- What else? It’s quite crowded. So to get a good spot, go on to the on the marble floor of the courtyard to settle down for the music.
